Inuyasha, Kagome, and Kikyo: A Love Triangle Modern Women Should Avoid

Inuyasha, Kagome, and Kikyo: A Love Triangle Modern Women Should Avoid

Let me start with the conclusion first:
as a mature, rational modern woman, I would avoid a complicated love triangle like this from the very beginning.

Yes, Inuyasha is iconic—and that’s exactly why inuyasha enamel pins remain so popular among collectors today. But let’s be honest: good men are not rare. He isn’t the only option, and he certainly isn’t the safest emotional choice.

Most fans probably remember that painful moment when Kagome witnesses Inuyasha holding the falsely resurrected Kikyo. I cried during that episode—and I know many fans did too. That emotional impact is also why kagome enamel pins and kikyo enamel pins carry such strong meaning for long-time fans.

Kikyo was Inuyasha’s first love—a tragic one. And first love, especially when it’s tied to guilt and regret, rarely fades completely. That unresolved emotion is exactly why kikyo enamel pins often feel heavier and more bittersweet than other character pins.

Even though Inuyasha and Kagome eventually end up together, I don’t personally see their story as a perfect romance. Kagome sacrifices years of her modern life and even lives apart from her own child for long periods of time. When I look at kagome enamel pins, I can’t help but think about how much she gave up, not just romantically, but emotionally.

More realistically, Kagome is a modern girl.
Inuyasha belongs to the Warring States era.

Marriage in real life isn’t made of dramatic rescues and sunset confessions—it’s built on shared values, communication, and emotional stability. From that perspective, Inuyasha simply isn’t an ideal partner.

Sometimes, avoiding the wrong love story is the wisest choice of all.
