Inuyasha is one of the most iconic anime series for many fans, and while most people focus on the main characters, Izayoi, Inuyasha’s mother, remains one of the most quietly important figures in the story.
Who Is Izayoi?
Izayoi was a human noblewoman with a high social status, yet she chose to fall in love with a powerful demon.
She appears only briefly in the series, mostly through Inuyasha’s childhood memories, but her influence is lasting.
Izayoi is gentle, calm, and loving. Her love for Inuyasha is completely unconditional.
At the same time, she has no ability to protect herself, which makes her fate tragically inevitable.
In many ways, Izayoi represents the most vulnerable kind of love in Inuyasha—pure, sincere, and unprotected.
Izayoi’s Legacy in Inuyasha’s Story
I personally believe that when Inuyasha’s father left Tessaiga to him, it wasn’t only a demon weapon or a symbol of power.
It was also the continuation of Izayoi’s will to protect her child.
Tessaiga exists not just to make Inuyasha stronger, but to keep him alive.
That protective instinct comes directly from Izayoi.
Why Izayoi Enamel Pins Are So Rare

The reason is simple:
Izayoi is a minor character with limited screen time
Very few artists choose her as a pin subject
