How to Make Glow-in-the-Dark Enamel Pins Brighter (my Fierce Deity Link Pin )

When I designed my Fierce Deity Link enamel pin, it was actually my first time creating a pin with glow-in-the-dark effects.

At the beginning, I honestly didn’t know much about glow materials. While working with the factory and producing the pins, I gradually learned how glow powder works and how to maintain glow-in-the-dark enamel pins.

So I wanted to write this small guide for collectors who may have the same questions.

1. Why Is My Glow-in-the-Dark Pin Not Glowing?

This actually happened to me the first time I received my Fierce Deity Link pins from the factory.

When glow-in-the-dark pins are freshly produced, the glow effect may appear weak or almost invisible. The reason is simple:

Glow powder needs to absorb light first before it can glow.

This process is usually called “charging” the glow enamel.

To make the glow stronger, you can simply:

• Place the pin under sunlight for about 10 minutes
• Or shine your phone flashlight for 3–5 minutes

Once the glow powder absorbs enough light energy, you’ll see the glow effect much more clearly in the dark.

2. Why Does My Glow Pin Become Dim After a While?

Another common question collectors ask is:

“Why does my glow enamel pin stop glowing after some time?”

There are two main reasons.

First, glow enamel pins should not stay in complete darkness for long periods of time. If the pin cannot absorb light, it simply cannot glow.

So if the glow effect seems weak, just expose the pin to light again and it will recharge naturally.

Second, glow-in-the-dark enamel does not stay bright forever.

The normal glow cycle looks like this:

bright → gradually dim → completely dark

Most glow pins will slowly fade after about 5–30 minutes, which is completely normal and not a quality issue.

You can always recharge the glow again by exposing it to light.

Glow Effects on My Fierce Deity Link Pin

For this design, I added glow effects to highlight the mysterious and powerful feeling of Fierce Deity Link.I personally love glow-in-the-dark enamel pins because they create a completely different atmosphere when the lights go out.
