A closer look at The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask-Fierce Deity Link enamel pins, limited designs, and glow-in-the-dark details for collectors.
I recently finalized the backer card design for my Fierce Deity Link enamel pin, and honestly—it wasn’t a smooth process at all.
The design went through three revisions, mainly because of background color adjustments.

At first, I chose a much darker background. Visually, it looked dramatic, but the factory asked me that it might print almost completely black. So I had to rethink the color palette and slightly adjust the size as well. Now everything is set, and I’m just waiting for the factory to finish the final pin production. That felt like the perfect moment to finally finish writing this blog.
Masks in Majora’s Mask and Why Fierce Deity Matters
In The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, masks play a huge role in gameplay and storytelling.Masks like the Deku Mask, Goron Mask, and Zora Mask each represent a different identity and ability.
Among all of them, Majora’s Mask is obviously the most iconic and widely recognized, which is why there are so many Majora-themed enamel pins on the market. However, most of those pins focus on the mask alone.
I wanted to do something different.Instead of designing just another mask pin, I wanted to create a Fierce Deity Link pin—one that combines Link himself with the mask, capturing that powerful, almost divine presence. Something bold, heroic, and visually striking.

Early Design Versions and Lessons Learned
I actually made two early versions of this design. The only difference was the background, but the version I eventually abandoned put too much emphasis on the sword while the mask itself felt less important.
The Fierce Deity Mask should feel mysterious and dominant—not just an accessory. For my previous original Sheik enamel pin, I experimented with a pearl effect finish. This time, I wanted to push myself again and try something new.
Glow-in-the-Dark Experiments: Blue vs Green
For this Fierce Deity Link enamel pin, I decided to use glow-in-the-dark effects.
I tested two glow colors: Blue glow and Green glow
The glow is mainly applied to the sword and the eyes, which really enhances the supernatural feel of the character.
I actually asked my followers on Instagram which glow color they preferred—and the votes were almost evenly split.

Because of that, I decided to produce both versions as samples.
Small Details That Didn’t Make the Final Cut
During production discussions, I even considered using red glow powder for Link’s eyes.
In the end, I decided against it. With the sword glowing blue or green, red felt a bit too aggressive and visually unbalanced.
Sometimes, knowing what not to add is just as important as adding more effects.
Final Thoughts
This Fierce Deity Link enamel pin represents another step forward for me—not just as a seller, but as a designer. Each new pin teaches me something, and I always want the next one to be better than the last.
I’m really looking forward to the official release, and I’d love for fellow Zelda fans to check it out.
